Another Milestone

Was making a backup of my NV companions plugin before trying some new stuff I had an idea for yesterday -- after proofing the last batch of neat stuff -- and saw that the latest Nos' NV Companions.esm weighs in at 1.47mb.

My companions plugin will no longer fit on a floppy disk.

...What? It is too spelled correctly. Yes, with a K.

...What do you mean "what's a floppy disk?"

No, it's not a euphemism for ED.

Kids, today.

  1. Hey, throw in some more custom textures and meshes and you might break the 700mb threshold! Next stop: DVDs!

This prompted me to check the file size of one of my current projects for another game. 58.8mb! Must be all those sprites and sound files...

Nos' NV Companions.bsa is more than 750mb currently.

  2. If I remember correctly Nos, the bulk of that esm file is scripting, which makes that one very large piece of work. Congratulations on that!

    1. The scripts attached to the house portion of the mod (and it required quite a few) resulted in nearly half that file size -- it was around 800 - 900kb before I did that, I think.

Though yeah, it's getting up there. With the script revisions I instituted this morning, the largest of the three companion scripts is 695 lines (for comparison, an NCCS v0.81 companion script is 450 lines). It's gotten to the point that I have to remove one feature before the engine will let me put in a new one.
