RR Companions Vault, Vanilla Companions, Update II

Things are... not going well.

I'm not sure what in the holy fuck is going on with this damned game, but once again, Bethsoft's function commands... don't.

Specifically, the removescriptpackage command. This command is supposed to remove the package called from the NPC, so that they will no longer use it.

Took Maple's worthless hide into Vault 1, left her. By the time I made it outside, she was exiting the tunnels right behind me, and heading off into the wastes. Stopped her, ordered her back into the Vault. Followed her in to make sure she made it. Left again...

Again, shortly after I get outside, she follows.

I followed her this time. We went on a lovely jaunt across half the fucking wasteland. South and west, mostly. Ended up walking clear down by Hells Bells, then heading north past Six Bottles Junction, where she walked up onto a hill overlooking the MPDL Mass Relay Station... and stopped. Isn't moving anymore. I can only assume her AI can't figure out how to cross the river, and since swimming isn't allowed on her start package...

Whole thing took over an hour at the walking pace.

At this point, I have no idea what's going on, and why the supposedly removed start package won't go the hell away.

I am so sick of this game and its complete lack of logic. Seriously, where did the devs go to fucking college? How are they still employed after such a slipshod job on this game?

Being the resourceful prick that I am, I've got a couple tricks left up my sleeve to potentially fix this, but things aren't looking hopeful. It looks as though the companions will have to be moved to start in interior cells only. This will either break immersion by sticking them in easy to get to but out of character locations, or will have potentially hefty requirements to get to them.

Urge to abandon mods rising...

  1. Yeah they took the easy way out it sounds like and made a few bad short cuts.

    I say walk away from it for a day or so and don't think of fallout or mods before it makes you to mad.

  2. Also, anyway to make the walking speed faster? AS really it takes forever for them to go to the areas set if you are going with them

  3. Depends on where they're going. The travel packages are generally set to always run, so they don't take too long.

    Only the start packages are usually the walking only ones.
