Just wanted to drop out my photographic (sort of) evidence that I succeeded, and the girls can now use stealthboys.
Should add a whole new level of sneakyness to using one of the girls as a sniper's partner.
Works like chems. Leave the stealthboy(s) in the companion's inventory, and when they enter combat mode they'll use it and become a rather deadly shadow.
Any toggle as to whether they will use the Stealth Boys? Be a shame if they went and used them up against a couple of ferals....

Unfortunately, Stealthboy use is a function of the combat style, which cannot be modified in-game.
ReplyDeleteOnly way to 'toggle' would be to switch combat styles totally, and according to Tarrant, combat style changes don't persist between cells.
Haven't had a chance to actually test that one yet, with all the other stuff I've got crashing down around my ears on any given day.
